I Love My Island Dogs Association runs the only animal shelter on St. Martin. The organization received the land for the shelter from the government. A container brightly painted by local artists serves as office and 7 kennels offer a temporary home for dogs waiting for adoption. I Love My Island Dogs Association has a no kill policy and saves as often as possible animals in danger to be euthanized from the local dog pound.

The organization is always happy to show the shelter to visiting tourists and very grateful for little gifts like dog food, feeding bowels, collars, toys and blankets.

Monday – Friday 4 pm – 6 pm and Saturday 2 pm – 6 pm
I Love My Island Dogs also organize spay and neuter campaign and have already received a lot of favorable attention from the local and foreign press:{odml{http://www.ilovemyislanddog.org/home/press}}

The association asks tourists that find a seemingly homeless animal to photograph it prior to contacting the organization to eclude already known animals that their owner just let run loose. In case of adoptions the association will assist with the export/import formalities.
